After a quick search Talat Market came up hitting all our criteria. A James Beard nominee and a Michelin recommended. And man oh man are we glad it popped up. We LOVED LOVED LOVED IT. You should know first off that their menu changes every week so the food I am going to review sadly might not be available. It is sad because it is all sooo delicious. The menu seems simple but it is simple to perfection with complex menu options. They suggest that you share, so we did. We ordered four dishes, a cocktail, and the two desserts. The cocktail was called Painkiller. It was simple and tasty. We picked our four dishes and the waitress paced it out for us so the progression built upon each dish. The first dishes to come out were Hoi Tod and the Crispy Rice Salad. OMG. We started out with a bang. The Hoi Tod was a seafood pancake and it was crisp to perfection. The showstopper of the whole meal was the Crispy Rice Salad. I can’t even explain the perfection that each bite was. How do they get the rice cooked to the perfect crispiness?? It is a must try and it is a staple menu item. You won’t be disappointed. The next dishes to come out were Yen Bang Bao Bao which is a rice noodle dish with pork belly. I wanted more pork because it was perfect. We also had the Braised Beef Green Curry. It was the best green curry I have ever had but I do think I would go back and order something else. As it was the most ‘simple/classic’ of the dishes we ordered. Again still delicious and no regret ordering it so if you get it you will enjoy it! So the desserts were a very pleasant surprise. They always have the sorbet available. It was pineapple and coconut which a jam on top. It was ok, tasty but didn’t compare to the custard dish we got. The custard was plum I think and seriously so so so good! I wanted 10 bowls of it!! On top of the amazing food the experience was just impressive. The vibe of the restaurant was great. Our server, Katie was kind and gave great recommendations!!! It’s in a great spot too! Don’t not hesitate to go here, in fact run. We were pumped to find out that the menu changes weekly so we can go back soon!!
