As someone else put it: style over substance Went in for just drinks (£5 for a bottle of Coke…), young barman was curt & devoid of personality, left quickly Picturesque but otherwise a pub to avoid

My husband was blown away by the fact that parts of the inn were around 600 years old! Loved the building with it's warren like feel of one little room after another. Our room was lovely and cosy, looking out to the front. Everything we needed were there, including a fan, as this was July and very hot. Food was excellent with lots of choice for both breakfast- which was included- and dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the location! Mells is absolutely glorious. A really beautiful little English village.

Beautiful!!! We had such a wonderful sunday lunch at The Talbot Inn in Mells. It was incredibly busy and, unfortunately, we didn’t have a table, but the Manager was absolutely fantastic and made us feel so welcome. He went out of his way to make sure we were able to eat and couldn’t have been more accommodating. Despite how busy it was, you could tell everything was under control and well managed. There was a really positive atmosphere, and the team handled the pressure brilliantly without it feeling chaotic. Our server, Ellie, was an absolute pleasure! She’s so friendly, attentive and a real credit to the team. A huge thank you to the whole team, especially the Manager and Ellie. We had a lovely experience and will definitely be back!
