Got a small cup of frijoles charros and they lacked flavor for me. The fact that they don't take cards is a big bummer. I would have loved to try more items. But, their tacos de asada were great. Maybe the next time we're in Rockport, we'll have more cash on hand. Definitely want to try more! I came to Rockport to visit my retired parents, and as soon as I arrived, I just KNEW his town would have amazing tacos, and I was not wrong. I searched online for any quirky, non-chain taqueria and found Taquitos El Guero. As a Guero myself, I instantly was attracted to this taqueria. We all piled in the car and headed to the spot. There was already a line at 9:00 am, a good sign. Peking can be tricky, but no true Texan lets anything stop them from authentic tacos. We ordered, all five of us, and we sat at the picnic table while our order was being made. I had the tacos de chorizo, and my family the usual bacon/sausage variety. They came out quickly and were really, really, really good! The corn tortillas were soft, and the chorizo had lots of flavor. The salsa tasted homemade and they were piping hot! We ordered another bag to go as we were headed to the aquarium in Corpus and needed road fuel. If you are ANYWHERE near Rockport, go see the ladies and guys at Taqueria El Guero. You'll be glad you did!
