The place and the food are super authentic. The ladies working there are very warm and friendly, it is like having dinner at your grandma’s. The food was excellent, good portion, very good price, quality Night guaranteed. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €10–15 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Following the Google reviews we decided to stop for lunch at noon and the truth is that it was a great success. The tasquinha is run by two women in their 70s (the tour guide we took told us that the older the woman in the kitchen, the better) and the food was great. The restaurant is tiny: only four tables that can seat about 12 people. The atmosphere is very kitsch but the food is the best: the seafood rice and the Braga cod are highly recommended. The octopus was also very tender and tasty. The dishes are copious. Four dishes and four drinks cost us 65 euros. I don't give it a five for two things: there is no possibility to pay by card and the drink prices are not visible. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

We had francesinha and seafood rice. Both of them were generous portions and the seafood rice was full of seafood! The staff was very nice and helpful, we will definitely come back while we are in porto. The place is in a small cobblestone street hidden from the busy tourist filled area while close to it. I absolutely recommend trying Tasquinha São João Novo!
