***anaphylactic allergic reaction, wound up in the hospital*** My husband has a very severe nut allergy. We are understanding & flexible when it comes to eating out - if a restaurant doesn't feel confident that their food is safe for him, no problem, we will order something else or go somewhere else. We ate at Terrazzo for lunch on 2/17/24. He ordered a salad, I ordered a pasta. We told the waiter that he is allergic and asked if my pasta could come with out the advertised nuts (we try to keep all the nuts away from the table). They said no problem. My pasta comes out - no nuts. His salad comes out with nuts (they were not listed on his dish in the menu). We asked if they could remake it without the nuts, and after going back and forth a couple of times about us having to pay for two salads instead of one (ridiculous), and explaining the severity of his allergy, the waiter agreed. He brought the "new" one out two minutes later - we were a bit suspicious that they had just picked the nuts off the old salad, leaving traces, so we asked the waiter again about it to clarify that it was safe for him to eat. The waiter said yes, so he started eating it. About three bites in, his mouth was itchy, so he stopped eating it. A couple minutes later his lips started swelling. We spent the rest of the afternoon in the hospital treating his anaphylactic reaction. Luckily there is an amazing hospital up the street that we were able to get to quickly, and he was okay, but it could have been so much worse. I hope the restaurant reads this review and considers training staff regarding LIFE THREATENING allergies. Our waiter had a terrible attitude the entire time, and clearly did not take his allergy seriously. Perhaps it is our fault for being trusting after so many red flags, but overall really scary and very disappointing. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
