If you're looking for a Michelin rated restaurant without it feeling elitist, this is a great option. I have been looking forward to trying a tasting menu from a restaurant if this caliber for many years, and they did not disappoint. It was like going to a restaurant where an artist is in charge of designing the menu. For instance, our appetizer was made up of a bird nest with "eggs" and various breakfast bites that looked sweet but we're actually all savory (see picture). This was a foreshadowing of future courses. I felt like every course challenged my expectations in some way. Sometimes it was with flavors I didn't expect would work well together or tricking my brain by having flavors that didn't match what it was expecting. My wife and I got a wine pairing with our tasting menu and every wine was paired well. We liked some more than others but never found one we didn't want to drink. There was even an interesting orange wine from France that reminded us of kombucha. The service and atmosphere were relaxed without being stuffy. It felt like we were at a nice restaurant in Hawaii, surrounded by plants and attentive staff. We will definitely come back here again one day the next time we are in Rome to find out what the chef's latest creations are. My dad and I had the best time at Marco Martini Roma celebrating his retirement! We had the tasting menu, and we were so pleasantly surprised by the chef’s take on each Italian classic. Throughout the meal, we were so excitedly anticipating the next course to see what the dish would be, and by the end of the dinner, we were both stuffed! The reimagining of each dish was so creative, and the service was just absolutely superb. Every dish and detail was explained to us, and we never felt like we required any attention because the servers anticipated every need. We would highly recommend this to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion (or just wanting a great Italian meal with a twist)!
