I had a lovely experience at The George. I ordered the chicken and leek pie, and it was absolutely delicious, really good quality food and very reasonably priced. Our server, Nyah, was amazing. She was so kind, welcoming, and had such a positive energy that genuinely made our visit even better. Her smile and attentiveness really stood out and made us feel well looked after. A great pub with great service. I’ll definitely be coming back! Price per person: £60–70 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Tucked just off the main flow, this pub immediately stands out with its traditional character—timber structure, open galleries, and a courtyard layout that feels both intimate and distinctive. It feels less like a typical pub and more like stepping into a living fragment of the city’s past. At the same time, it functions exactly as it should.
