What a fantastic find! We stayed for a night while visiting Rochester for a couple of days. We chose this hotel as it's very central and has air conditioning, thinking those things alone would be worth it. It turns out it's a really nice hotel; very quiet despite being on the high street and above a pub, the room was very good quality and size (the bathroom was spacious as well). Checking in and out was very easy and the staff were very welcoming. Definitely one to recommend!

They were doing repair works so the kitchen was closed so I can't comment on the food. The atmosphere was nice and there was plenty of seating. The bar and tables were a bit sticky.

Had a bad experience at the golden lion wetherspoon at Rochester today. We group of friends used to go there every Thursday to have some food and drinks. Today the security asked for our physical id, well they are doing their job, two of us didn’t had id with us physically. But i did shown my visa which is only accessible from the government of UK website. And they still didn’t let us in. I was 22 and my friend was 34 years old. I request JD weatherspoon management to teach the basics of the type of id to your security staff, since the uk resident permit card has changed to E-Visa, and your staff are not updated with training. If the Airport securities can accept E-Visa, Why can’t you !!??? I am very happy and satisfied with everything else that Golden lion provides with quality of food and service. But today’s bad experience from the securities unforgettable.
