We had fried chicken, quesadila, cheese cake, carrot cake, twice baked potatoes and macaroni salad. We all enjoyed it and were happy with the large variety and friendly staff.

Great food at a good price. Servings are pretty big and the free homemade chips and BBQ sauce before the meal were great!

Worth a try in Rising Sun, Indiana. We asked a young family on Main Street about Hickory House. They like it and recommend the smoked ribs and the Chicken Alfredo. We didn't want much to eat so after a discussion with our enthusiastic waitress, Stephanie, we decided on the rib and fries appetizer. I opted for coleslaw rather than fries and my husband had Mac and cheese rather than the fries. The ribs were "fall off the bone" with an acceptable sauce. The Mac and cheese was very good. The coleslaw was just ok. Our server was outstanding.
