My wife made reservations for my birthday via phone for 6pm. Arrived 10 minutes early. Was seated pretty much right away. I received a card that read "Happy Birthday" upon our seating. We ordered drinks and entrées and received the complimentary bread with 3 cheese butter. Of note the 3 cheese butter lacks actual cheese that it used to have. But in this new climate it's a shame that quality has slipped whilst prices keep going up. We received our drinks a little late but was explained that the bar was swamped because of a big party. No problem. The food arrived and tasted and looked great. My 18oz prime rib actually looked 18oz. Once we finished our meal the waitress then came and asked whether we wanted dessert or not. I thought this was a trick question as I thought a Billy Miner pie on a birthday was customary in all my 20 years at eating at the Keg. She came with dessert menus instead. My wife and I were taken a back as this was not what we were accustomed to. Nevertheless we settled the bill and ended up having dessert a little closer to home. I can only assume that the thank you card has replaced the birthday Billy miner pie. Or this was the waitress' call? It ended up being a sour experience in the end and when my wife looked at social media and a few recent articles people have been getting free dessert.
