Simple to book a table online, good parking facilities, and pleasant staff. My chicken pie was not really hot enough although there was plenty of it, but my friend’s fish and chips looked superb. I spent both my 50th and 55th wedding anniversaries here and received excellent treatment for the family meals. (The 50th, just after Covid) was really special. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Beautiful setting and lovely building. Staff very good. Courteous, polite and friendly. I'm afraid the food was very average. For main courses that are nearly £30 you have reasonably high expectations. Steak was a bit tough, and the cod loin was just bland. I was surprised how empty it felt considering it was half term holidays and there is also a caravan park nearby. Great place to sit outside with a drink. Price per person: £40–50 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

I popped into The Rockingham Arms for lunch with my 1‑year‑old daughter, and it turned out to be such a lovely experience. I ordered their burger, which was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and genuinely one of the best pub burgers I’ve had in a long time. They were brilliant with my daughter too. The kitchen made her a simple pasta with tomato sauce and cheese, and even that tasted great. It’s always such a relief when a place is both welcoming to little ones and serves food they’ll actually enjoy. I also had a cappuccino, which was spot‑on — smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. We sat in the bar area, which had a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I even ended up chatting with a local who was equally happy with his coffee and excited to come back and try more of the menu, which says a lot about the consistency of the place. All in all, a wonderful visit. Great food, great coffee, and genuinely warm hospitality. I’ll definitely be returning. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
