Never in my life did I expect to be this far south and not encounter seasoning at a seafood restaurant. Nevermind that roughly an hour and a half west of here they will season food until your tounge jumps out and slaps you for never eating anything but that food. I'm not talking not enough seasoning, I mean none.....as in not even someone thinking about salt while they made the food. Steamed red potatoes...nothing, steamed corn on the cob ...not even butter on the side. Steamed green beans I think you get the idea. It was $6.99 for chips and salsa and if youve ever had Pace picante sauce you know what it tastes like. I paid extra for royal red shrimp and they came overcooked to perfection with clumps of bay seasoning dotted on them like they were meant to scruff and shake vigorously until the rest of the platter resembled something you wanted to eat. My wife said her food was good so I'll add her star for that. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We've been coming to Gulf Shores as a summer family vacation for decades. The Steamer Baked Oyster Bar is included as a dinner each year. This year our family considered the food as the best food we have ever eaten. Considering it's been our favorite dinner spot for a long time, that's saying volumes! We recommend the bacon wrapped scallops, Parmesan bread, 4 bushwhackers with a floater, shrimp étouffée, , 2 Bahama Mama, steamed shrimp & oyster tray, shrimp & crab legs platter, shrimp & scallops combo platter and 2 kids grilled cheese. If you haven't been to The Steamer Baked Oyster Bar, wait no longer. Run! Don't walk. Yes! It's that delicious! Ask for Katie since she is the perfect waitress! Your sweet tea or water glasses stayed filled!
