The Wild Rabbit in Kingham is an exquisite Cotswold inn that perfectly blends rustic charm with understated luxury. Every detail feels thoughtfully considered. While it’s certainly expensive, the experience more than justifies the price. The cottages are beautifully cozy, elegant, and authentically Cotswold, making them the perfect place to relax and unwind. Opening the door to a fully stocked fridge was such a lovely surprise, and the luxurious spa products in every room added another layer of indulgence. This is the kind of place where you immediately feel at home, yet completely pampered. You arrive planning a short stay and leave wishing you never had to leave at all. A truly memorable experience. Not worth nearly £500. Dangerously hot during heatwaves and would be a risk to anyone visiting pregnant, with health conditions and definitely to dogs. The rooms are not equipped for the hot weather as there is no air conditioning. This resulted in the worst night stay with no sleep and our room being covered in every insect known to David Attenborough and cobwebs. Despite it being in the current guidelines to keep windows closed and curtains over the windows to prevent rooms heating up this was not followed and staff knowing the rooms are high temperatures should of contacted guests to inform them on this situation before arriving. Half way through the night I had to change our bed covers due to insects all over them, also a creepy yellow stain on the duvet. The fans put in our room were very noisy leading to a choice of no fan on and being super hot or noisy fan and no sleep. The beehive room is where we were allocated which was listed online as a “spacious room” space was not even in the room with us as it was a tiny attic. Over all I feel this stay was misleading and a false image compared to what was provided. This is highly disappointing for the price paid as not only did I not expect to have to shower with cobwebs above my head but you can stay in most uk hotels and have air conditioning And although it doesn’t happen too often this is not the first heatwave we have ever had so this is not a unknown circumstance. The WORST hotel stay we have ever had. We stayed in a cottage during the heatwave, this stay was not only a disaster but highly unsafe and a risk to health especially for those with medical conditions, pregnancy or pets. We checked in during the evening and went to dinner, coming back to find staff had put all windows open (against NHS/UK Government advice), rather than curtains/blinds closed to prevent the heat, and a horrendous number of insects. Walls, ceilings and the bed were covered in insects and cobwebs. An unsettling yellow stain on the bedsheets (pictured) just to make matters worse. Midnight, we had to request new pillow cases due to insects. The rooms are also NOT equipped for the heat as the hotel does not have air conditioning and only provides noisy fans that barely produce any cooling effect. Due to the noise and the unbearable heat we did not get to sleep until 5am, after resorting to sleeping downstairs on a sofa. To make matters worse we were told by night staff that insect spray would not be provided even in the dire situation we reported. Us two adults, having to resort to sleeping on a tiny 2 seater sofa in a room near £500 is not what we envisioned when booking this stay. Furthermore, in our experience, the pictures showing a "spacious room" were misleading as you could barely walk on either side of the bed in reality (Beehive Cottage). Very unsettling and underwhelming. Service: 1
