Used to be our place of choice, not anymore sadly.
Chaotic service and bitter crew. We ordered the banquette for 4 and several items of the order were not brought until we asked for explicitely, and we could not enjoy the hot food as we kept waiting for bread, plates, and other stuff. Some items we were told later were not available (coffee, for example!) but nothing mentioned when we made the order.
Fried bread not fresh, not the bread nor the oil. Asked for olive oil and got some yellow liquid that smells just bad.
More upsetting is how much the place deteriorated compared to excellent service and food in the past years!

Tabouli had a bug in it, food 100% microwaved chicken smelt like frozen microwaved chicken I didn’t even eat any of it because it was so disgusting. 6 of us ate and this is how much food was left because it was so un edible. I have never eaten food this bad in my entire life. Never ever again.

Used to be my place of choice and I thought this is exagerated, but I visited there last weekend and was utterly disappointed.

Brunswick East is renowned for it's abundance of great dining options and unfortunately the new Tiba's restaurant on Lygon doesn't quite stack up. An overly large restaurant that lacks music, general ambience and warmth. Food doesn't get much more exotic than what you'll find at a souvlaki van and the 'no alcohol' policy doesn't particularly appeal to an Australian market.
