Always thought that Tony Roma’s restaurant serves the best ribs in town, so we decided to try it for lunch. When we entered the restaurant, a staff in a black uniform (Ms. C) brought us to our table. We tried to request for a seat near the window but was declined as she told us that it’s for reservations only. So we took our seat facing the entrance. About 5 minutes later, a couple came in and another waiter brought them to the same window seat, without asking for reservations details. This double standard is not acceptable in the service industry. In addition, the lady in black is always acting busy where else the junior staffs in red were all doing the real work. The original babyback ribs were hard and dried, probably it had been left too long in the kitchen or elsewhere. We couldn’t see any succulent and juicy ribs at all. To our bewilderment, we were served half-chipped cutlery. Imagine the shock when we wondered what would happen if someone swallowed the chipped metal from the knife. High respect for the manager (I think he is cos he’s the only wearing white) and all the serving staff in red, who were indeed truly busy. I came to Makuhari Messe for an exhibition, so I decided to go to Tony Roma's for the first time in a while. Lunch is a special rib lunch (2,200 yen) and IPA. I'm not driving today, so I can drink beer without hesitation. The ribs are 6 half scrubs. It's still guinea meat, and it goes well with the sweet sauce. Of course it goes well with beer! I was able to get as much bread as I wanted, but I limited myself to just one slice. This store is not found in Aichi Prefecture, so it is one of the stores you should definitely stop by when you come to Makuhari. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ¥2,000–3,000 Recommended dishes: スペアリブランチセット
