7-course tasting menu with prestige wine pairing. $1700 for two total. This was disappointing given the cost. In terms of cuisine there were excellent dishes but others rather ordinary (the sea urchin for example, we only remember the accompaniment). The wine pairing was the best experience of the evening. The sommelier who served us was not even the appointed sommelier at the restaurant and was the most professional waiter. The service in general lacks quality for a so-called gourmet restaurant. We were served like in a good brasserie. Below expectations for a luxury experience. At comparable prices, Europea or Boulud deliver the goods much better. Sorry to be so low in the rating, but the marketing around this restaurant is unfortunately overrated. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Extraordinarily productive week with the Bell Canada executive team. Tonight we celebrated our many, many innovative successes at Toqué! "Toqué" is slang for "a little stubborn" (like Katie), as in the chef's insistence on using fresh, organic, and local ingredients. Consequently, the menu changes daily in accordance with market offerings, but the foie gras, duck, and wild venison are on constant rotation... Katie, you will totally love this restaurant. *Terrine de foie de lotte, gelée de saké, radis, concombre et soya gélifié Nice touch here. Where most restaurants will offer just one version of foie, Toque! is more generous with two versions (one cold, one hot). Surrounded by small pieces of cucumbers and carrots, the foie terrine has an ideally pink, fresh texture on the inside with a perfect, velvety overall consistency. *Foie gras poêlé, daikon poché au foin d'odeur, eau de pomme et gelées de miel et jurançon Elegant chunks of beautifully-textured, pan-seared foie. Evenly cooked, tasty beyond yummy, with an impeccably smooth, inside consistency. Bathed in a light, subtly sweet, delicious apple jus, with dices of apples and honey gelée. An orgasm in your mouth. *Effiloché de lapin, pâte à cavatelli,matsutakés et craterelles, betterave et purées de rutabaga The tender cubes of sauteed rabbit are impeccably tasty. On top of being tasty, the dish is generously filling, nicely seasoned, and well-balanced. The garlic is a lovely, lovely touch -- and surprisingly sweet. *Gigue de cerf rôtie, cerfeuil tubéreux, rabiole (rutabaga), topinambour (Jerusalem artichoke) et purée de poivron rouge Lean cut of deer, perfectly tender, nicely peppery, and warm through the middle, with a perfect hint of red. Comparable to the filet mignons that were also served to our table tonight. Service was attentive and professional. The food was remarkable beyond description. And the setting was fit for a King or President. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Katie, you will ADORE this place. À ta santé !
