As you submitted the original review on the 6th of April with a higher rating. Are you trying to achieve something by lowering the rating and reposting it??? I'm a bit confused. ......ORIGINAL RESPONSE..... Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are indeed "family run" not sure why you needed to write it like that. And good/negative reviews are always welcome as we can always strive to improve. Unfortunately as there was a strong wind Saturday (storm Kathleen) anytime someone opened the door it kept slamming into the wall on the other side and it has a glass window in, which can easily smash (which has happened before) and cause a hazard and make it uncomfortable for guests sat at the front. That's why we needed to keep asking to close the door. As the restaurant was so busy and loud unfortunately we need to talk louder and shout so people far away can hear as the party were also all stood at the bar talking and making their way in. So apologies if you took offence to that but nothing else we could have done. (They all had a good night, and didn't seemed bothered by the "rude" approach?) Also, I don't understand how she was rude with you?? I'm confused by that. Also 12 or 14 makes a big difference, 14 people wouldn't fit on a table for 12 due to the size of our tables. Knowing last minute makes the whole world of difference as we would need an extra table (which we didn't have at that particular moment) due to being fully booked. Hence asking them as they mentioned that maybe 2 more would join. We know them well, and we always have a good laugh with them all every time they come in (I think you're just looking for something to pick at?) The Veal is cooked in the marsala sauce, we can do Veal rare if it was a thicker cut, but as this is cut thin it is very hard to guarantee a specific cooking like rare/mid rare and so on as we cook it in the sauce. So we serve it cooked, the issue was the way the till wrote it on the check in the kitchen, hence pointing this out to the staff at the time. We try our best to do it as close as we can to the customers liking. The bar is small, not much we can do about that I'm afraid, it gets crowded when busy. I don't think it's up to the customers to dictate how many members of staff I need to put on. We have 7 members of staff on weekends for a reason and I wouldn't put staff on if we didn't need them. The Napoli sauce is cooked for hours during the day, sometimes the sweetness is down to the type of tomatoes or ingredients used with it, we try to balance acidity as best we can. The sweet taste you are referring to in your instance was the spicy chilli paste we make, and also the Nduja which has a slightly sweet-ish (spicy) taste when it melts in the tomato sauce. We've had the same staff for a long time and normally get great feedback (check other reviews) and nobody has ever said they are rude. They all work extremely hard and efficiently to ensure a smooth service. When it's so busy sometimes things are done louder and quicker to make sure nobody is waiting too long.
