Dear readers, I worked at unida services from March to August 2019. After a few years of illness, this was my first job. However, I have to say that I wasn't quite up to speed at the beginning. There were some changes in my personal life and life was anything but easy for me. I had to get used to a lot of new things again. Also about working in a second-hand shop with personal customer contact. So far I have only worked in the office, where I only had customer contact by telephone. Personal contact was the biggest challenge. Unida services is a very special place. It's not the activities themselves that make it so special, but the people I was able to get to know there. Everyone is very committed. Ms. Beham and Ms. Nezvedova took over the training in the second-hand shop. They explained the tasks to me with a lot of patience and trained me. Every day started with a genuine smile. This requires independence. Not like a typical AMS course, where you go in the morning and let it wash over you until lunchtime. Tasks are assigned and they must be completed. You have responsibility that is very similar to working life. Ms. Leitner-Posch is a very special person. Always a smile on his face and lots of good advice for life. I keep thinking of words of wisdom that I heard from her. I still think about her very often. I thank her from the bottom of my heart because she helped me broaden my horizons. She is an amazing woman from whom you can learn a lot. Little by little I took on more and more tasks and became a valuable member of the team. My favorite task was of course labeling the goods. Ms. Galhuber supported me in my rehabilitation into working life. She was a very big support. I was able to take away and implement a lot of good things from our conversations and the exercises she did with me. Ms. Roseneder took over the role in the kitchen and in the cafe. She is always in a good mood and has a smile on her face that is contagious. Ms. Mattes, who is responsible for administration and accounting, is a really great person. When she laughs, it could be heard throughout the house. You just had to laugh along with it. At the beginning I would have liked to support her in her work, but then I wouldn't have had the opportunity to develop further. The second-hand shop was my opportunity to grow, which I took advantage of. Also a big thank you to Ms. Ruttensteiner, who took the time to talk to me. She has the gift of seeing into someone. Very quickly we talked about the basic things that were still bothering me. Get to the root of the problem and find a solution. She gave me the mantra then: “I am an independent and responsible woman and I am grateful for that.” I couldn't implement it well at the time. Today the meaning of these words is palpable. I received great support from Ms. Berger during my further application process. She helped me find the right words and formulations. Through them I managed to be invited to a few job interviews. This gave me courage and confidence again that I would once again gain a foothold in the professional world. In the end, I found a really great company where I feel comfortable, I really enjoy my work and I get along well with my colleagues. A huge thank you also to Ms. Beham, because without her I would never have found out about this great position. I ended up back in the office, but that's just my job. More than two years later, I can say that without unida services I would not have been able to get back on my feet so quickly.
