This is the first negative review I’ve ever written, and I honestly didn’t want to write one. We went to this restaurant tonight as a family of four to celebrate our child’s birthday. Before deciding to dine here, I specifically asked the young woman at the front desk about the pricing. She told me that the two adults would pay full price and the two children would pay half price. She did not ask our children’s ages or mention any age restrictions. Based on the information she gave us, we decided to stay and wait for a table. After we finished our meal, we were shocked to find out at the register that our 10-year-old child was being charged the full adult price. I was upset because this was completely different from what we were told when we arrived. I simply wanted to speak with the front desk employee who had given us the original information and clarify what had happened. Instead, the manager repeatedly refused to let me speak with her. Even worse, he insisted that the front desk employee had never said that. This raised serious concerns for me about the restaurant’s honesty, transparency, and integrity. If the pricing has an age requirement, it should be clearly communicated to customers before they decide to dine there. And if a staff member provides incorrect information, the appropriate response is to acknowledge the misunderstanding and resolve it — not simply deny that it happened. I was not refusing to pay. I was asking for a reasonable explanation and a chance to speak with the employee involved. Instead, the manager told me not to interfere with the front desk’s work and then threatened to call security and the police if I did not pay. I was honestly shocked. We were a family with two children who had just finished a birthday dinner. We were not causing a disturbance or refusing to pay. We were simply trying to clarify what we had been told when we entered the restaurant. Because it was getting late and our children had school the next day, we decided not to continue the confrontation. We paid the bill and left. Despite everything that happened, my husband still left a tip out of courtesy, even though after this experience we certainly did not feel that we had received good customer service. What was supposed to be a happy birthday dinner turned into a very unpleasant and upsetting experience. Our child was frightened by the confrontation as well. The way this manager handled the situation was completely unacceptable. A good manager should listen to a customer, clarify what happened, and try to resolve a misunderstanding — not deny what the customer was told and threaten to call security and the police. There was also very little warmth or hospitality from the staff. No smiles, no friendly attitude, and certainly no feeling of being welcomed. My advice: confirm the children’s age requirements and pricing very carefully before you sit down to eat. Based on our experience tonight, we will absolutely not be returning. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $40–50
