Nice hotel and good service. Nicely close to the metro directly into Central station. Cozy bar in the living room. The hotel has 24-hour pizza that can be ordered directly to the room. They tasted unremarkable. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Great value

What was supposed to be a wonderfully romantic weekend started off very disappointingly. We booked a suite at this Van der Valk where we had too high expectations, but unfortunately it is nothing more than a slightly larger room and a sofa. Upon arrival the room was dark without any real atmosphere. The requested romantic extras were not ready in the room and the view of the suite we had booked was very sad. You look out onto a dilapidated building and the hotel windows seemed like they hadn't been cleaned in months. The only solution that this hotel could offer is a down grade room that we had not booked and to refund the price difference of the rooms + an extra 17.00 whole euros. Or get your money back and leave. Further compensation was not possible, as the story was that I had booked the room myself. Of course I booked the room myself, but for a room costing almost 1000.00 you do not expect this to be the view and to arrive in a room where you have little room to move, cannot see through the windows and when you look through them you look at a dilapidated building. There were also large red wine stains in the carpet. In my opinion, for this reason the price-quality ratio is not appropriate. And the attitude of this hotel to solve it is, in my opinion, substandard and not worthy of Van der Valk. Even offering a cup of coffee because we had to wait for the management meeting was not an option. Furthermore, the hotel is a nice base for business travelers, it is not really very special. The location is not really attractive during the day, but in the evening there is a beautiful skyline to see from our other room. We are a little wiser again. The name van der falcon doesn't mean much anymore. Where you used to always get value for your money, service, attention and solution-oriented managers, you are now turned away with a Take It or leave it confession. At least that's how it came across to us. To be honest, the new room was a lot better than the luxurious so-called suite and because of our own mindset we were able to make it a wonderful weekend. Management has not heard from them anymore. Rooms: The so-called suite should not be called that, this is a marketing trick. Rooms with a view of the dilapidated building should have lower costs and the hotel should be transparent about this. Nearby activities: Amsterdam there is plenty to see and do. The hotel is a great base for doing things around Amsterdam. Walkability: Metro station close to lover Amsterdam Center to travel. Food & drinks: There are restaurants and cafes nearby and the center is nearby. Rooms: 1 Service: 2 Location: 1 Hotel highlights: Quiet
