Just had dinner at the restaurant here at the hotel with my husband. Not sure where to leave the restaurant review so I’ll leave it here. Pros: - we were seated quickly and the atmosphere was very nice - my salmon fillet dish was very good, well cooked and well seasoned - the sweet potato fries and the dipping sauce were very tasty Cons: - my husbands’ burger came out too rare/raw for his liking and had it sent back - the second one came out less pink but still too rare/raw - we asked for the bill without my husband eating his dinner and they didn’t remove the burger off the bill - once the burger was removed, after payment was completed, the waiter then told us that the burger comes medium rare (he told us the menu said this but the online version does not and I don’t remember reading this in the menu while at the restaurant either), but if we had wanted it cooked longer we could have asked for it I think overall the staff was friendly and the food came quickly, but perhaps stating on the menu that the burger comes medium rare and then confirming with your patrons their desired doneness can alleviate some of these issues moving forward. -Tracey

Extremely bad service. Without contacting us by telephone, the Easter breakfast is simply canceled the evening before. No effort is made to correct this. Service: 1

I have booked a reservation today on March 30 for an Easter breakfast for 3 people on March 31 at 10:15 am. I received an email confirmation at 12:33. So I thought, great, tomorrow we'll have a nice Easter breakfast at Van der Valk. Suddenly, I received a cancellation email from Van der Valk without any reason given. That's why I called Van der Valk for clarification. Do you know what I was told? "Yes, that's what the system does if there is no payment before March 15...". I had not received any payment instructions in my confirmation email and moreover, I had never been able to pay before March 15. The reservation system should have been closed if they no longer wanted reservations after March 15. When I asked whether it would be possible to manually reset my reservation, the answer was negative; the system cannot do that. This makes my pants fall off! I expected better from Van der Valk.
