Come here for a meal after visiting Portland Police Museum. Good is the most suitable description for duck confit at this restaurant. Delicious chocolate souffles are exactly what many guests taste here. It's a must to order terrific Bloody Mary and divine champagne when coming to Veritable Quandary. The friendly staff shows a high level of hospitality at this place. The excellent service is something these restaurateurs care about. Most reviewers say that the décor here is interesting. When inside, the atmosphere is amazing. The Zagat rating shows that food at this spot is worth 4.6 stars.
Went here on a Saturday on their last week end open as Veritable Quandary in this location. Sat at the bar, and ordered eggs Benedict. The place was beautiful. The servers were very attentive, the drinks were perfect and the food is good. Prices are competitive. Why the one star only? You ask... Because around the 20 minute mark of my last bite of the eggs Benedict, I was white knuckling it in the car. I had to go poop so bad that my stomach actually really hurt! Luckily I made it in time to the toilet at home, and every morsel of food I had in me was splattering all over the porcelain throne. Why am I blaming it on the eggs Benedict? Because I woke up this morning, without eating or even drinking anything at home to go straight here. Now, it could be the drink (R. P. M.) that made my ass blew up like that, but that's just highly unlikely. Somewhere down the line, either someone forgot to wash their hands, the eggs weren't good, I don't know, something went terribly wrong, and I paid for my meal in more than one way. They are moving and opening up with a different name somewhere, called The Q. I am going to be very wary of that new place (somewhere near November or so), or I will just be sure to bring an extra pair of pants, underwear and some wet wipes.
