We were there for the first time yesterday. We each took the menu with tuna and rump steak as the main course. The starter platter to share was a poem, goat cheese, scampi, baby calamari, carpaccio and vitello tonnato were a delicious starter, the portion was perhaps even a bit too large (for us). The main courses with mashed potatoes, fresh leaf spinach and a hint of pumpkin puree Steaks were cooked to perfection, of very good quality and very tasty. At the end there were three types of dessert tiramisu (our favorite), parfait and panacotta. Here too, each component was a dream in itself. The whole thing is also quite cheap at €45 per person. The service was very warm. Our minimal criticism - the recommended very tasty wine - was priced a good deal higher than the wine we wanted, but it wasn't available in 0.7l, and when it comes to napkins, cloth napkins would be nice or slightly larger paper napkins, but that's moaning at a high level. Max Wagner's team, led by his mother, warmly welcomes us at the entrance. The restaurant is bathed in warm white light and is furnished in a classic, stylistically straightforward, slightly Mediterranean style with modern elements. The aperetivo (Aperol Spritz) was very tasty, served fresh with an orange slice and bathed in ice cubes. The evening got off to a good start here. Starters carpaccio as it should be and vitello tonnato with proper tuna sauce and fresh, crunchy capers. As an intermediate course, a “must have” for EVERY guest: a small portion of truffle pasta prepared at the table in a parmesan cheese wheel. The pasta al dente. The sauce to sink your teeth into. We shared a small portion which was plenty. Main course: veal liver with fried sage and püü. My wife: Beef fillet medion/rare was served perfectly. Buttery soft with vegetables tossed in butter or something similar. Plus a Sauvignon Blanc from the Cantina St Michael in Eppan “Sanct Valentin” (it went well with the meat as this South Tyrolean wine was also aged a little in oak barrels). A nightcap (espresso martini) and espresso macchiato rounded off our overall experience. Unfortunately, this delicious and enjoyable evening came to an end at 11:30 p.m. We'll be back!
