The quality of food is deteriorating with every visit and we’ve been coming here regularly for years. I think today will be my last trip and it’s not about price, it’s about quality and choice – never a special of the day, just the same old menu season after season with little variation. Also seems there is little quality control as meals are variable from one visit to the next. Today’s prawn salad was basically a bowl of noodles with 5 prawns and some scraps of cucumber, carrot and chili (if you could find them) dressed up with some coriander, mint and a sprinkle of almonds. My guest’s meal, the house fish & chips wasn’t much better with a splash of coleslaw. Other recent meals have been equally disappointing – most notably the oysters kilpatrick on 16 November made with BBQ sauce not worcestershire sauce. And then on 30 November there was the slow roasted lamb – a tiny portion served with a splash of hummus and yogurt and cold flatbread. There are much better local dining options, many with waterviews, so that’s where we will be going from now on.

We're locals and would eat here all the time but the food is getting progressively worse with less on the plate each time and the prices jacked up higher on every visit. Feels like Dedes are just greedy and only care about making as much money as possible and not about their customers just their wallets. $42 for a steak with one potato, which I would consider an ok pub steak (not fine dining) is a bit of a joke. $30 for 5 scallops fried in butter... The views are great but until you actually care about your customers I'd tell everyone not to bother with your overpriced average at best pub meals.

We go to The Rowers often as we live local, on Tuesday we took some friends for lunch that were visiting from up north. Our food took over an hour to arrive but we didn’t complain as we were enjoying the view and catching up with friends. Sadly when my meal finally arrived it was only lukewarm but by this stage I was starving so again didn’t complain and just proceeded to eat it. When I was 3/4 of the way through my meal I found a large piece of broken ceramic (possibly from a cup or mug) in my plate, as I looked closer I found another smaller shard. We didn’t make a fuss, when a waiter finally came by to clear the table we showed him and he said he’d call the manager, we stayed another hour but no one came to our table. Our visitors were horrified by this lack of service and mentioned it to the front desk on our way out. They took my details and said they would have someone call me but of course no one has.....dreadful customer service Watergrill and Sydney Rowing Club
