Very disappointing. The pub was empty when we arrived for lunch, however starters still took 50 minutes to arrive, and looked as if they had been under the warmer for most of that time. A lot of items were not available. My lasagne (pictured) was shocking. It tasted as if it had been reheated several times. The salad was all wilted. How the chef thought this was suitable to be served to customers is a mystery. Shame to say that I will not be returning.

The Waterwitch is in a lovely location, just off the Canal and in a quiet area. Our waitress was lovely, smiley and polite. The bar staff member we dealt with clearly wished to be elsewhere and while everyone has off days and I don't expect smiles and fan fair, politeness would be a minimum that was missing. The beer was great, the food was a disaster. I assume this is why the waitress never came to ask if everything was OK! Overcooked, lack of taste and a bare minimum to qualify. The 'burger' a strange tasting patty slapped between two overcooked crispy buns, a thin sliver of cheese and a folded peice of streaky bacon left me longing for a burger king sadly. At £16, I'd expect a little more, perhaps some lettuce and or a slice of tomato to give it a boost? Needless to say, I would come back for beer... Hoping for a different bar keeper! But I certainly wouldn't eat here again. - As a disclaimer, we ate all the food, at £30 for lunch for two in this economy, knowing it would end up in the bin, we ploud through, but only by principle, not desire for their food. Very much recommend the lamb shank shepherds pie! Melt in the mouth! Took our dog with us as it was a dog friendly pub, big garden which he made full use of having a sniff about! Fantastic food, fantastic service and a bloody decent pint of Guinness Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection
