Out of all the Hispanic restaurants I have tried, my friend put me onto this spot and let me tell you, this is hands down the best Hispanic/mexican restaurant in all of Wilmington imo. Don't come at me saying "oh el cerro grande is the best", because I tell you right now, el cerro is trash compared to this 5 star spot. The birria tacos are to die for, it almost feels like chipotle, but the food actually has flavor, it's delicious, and it's reasonably priced! Well quit reading the reviews and go get you some! My husband and I eat here often, and he and his work crew eat lunch here at least once a week. Was a “hidden gem” for us for a while but people have discovered it. But even when it’s busy the service is fast and I am happy for them because the food is fantastic. Restaurant is always super clean, we’ve have A LOT of different things off the menu and it is ALL great. Love supporting a small locally owned business like this. If you haven’t tried it, just go. I’ve been here three or four times, and let me tell you — it gets better every time! The people at Rico’s definitely have it together. It’s a little taste of Mexico right on Kerr Avenue, with something for everyone. They even make their own special hot sauces, and if you already have a favorite dish, chances are they have that too. The staff is always very nice, and the service is fast. They offer regular fountain drinks, bottled drinks, and cold horchata as well. I look forward to eating here again, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this place grows even bigger in the future.
