Stopped in after a visit in Elkhorn after seeing their electric sign showing a sale on ribs. I must say that I was thankful this evening at dinner as the rack was one of the best that I have had in some time. They had enough fat to be tasty but they were not floating in grease as you often get from the supermarket. We will be back.

Besides having a great selection of fresh and frozen meats there is Mackinac fudge (deliciousness) at the checkout counter.

On a recent trip to Lake Geneva, my sister and I detoured through Delevan and Elkhorn. We spotted a sign for Wilson Farm Meats advertising "Daily Special: Top Sirloin Steaks $5.99 lb" among some other tempting bargains, so we decided to stop by. Even though it was almost closing time, I was able to have two of the sirloin steaks cut for me. The store is a real butcher shop, where you can have meat cut to order. They have fresh meats of all varieties; smoked such as hams, sliced ham, bacon, smoked pork chops (yum!); sausages; hot dogs; chicken; cheese and cheese curds; soda, beer, and wine; and gourmet items such as jams, jellies, and pie fillings. There are also freezer cases filled with plenty of the items they sell, if you prefer. I bought two frozen packs of their ground chuck, a frozen pork tenderloin, and a package of homemade portobello mushroom-Swiss burgers. The steaks were great! I can't wait to try these goodies!
