Very cozy environment, lots to read and look at. Coffee was decent. Water comes from tap, gross and foggy, but that's my only complaint

Hi Forest, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We would like our guests to rest assured that our water is clean (we drink it too!) but the pressure from the tap creates air bubbles that give the water a foggy appearance for a minute before harmlessly dissipating. Hope this eases your mind and we see you again soon! Workers Tap & Cafe

this place has been the most healing social environment i have ever been in. the very first time i walked in i knew I had found a second home. it isn't super loud from the outside about it, but it is very much an LGBTQ+ friendly space! (especially on Fridays for T4T!) they're open at 7am on weekdays and 9am on the weekend (as of 2/1/26) and close at 12am, which makes it ideal for enjoyers of liquid indulgence at any time of day! nothing quite like that 4th pistachio oat milk mocha at 9:30pm on a Tuesday! or maybe a pint at 9:30am, who am i to judge? chase it down with a locally made fresh pastry they sell here too! the staff is above and beyond, and while still efficient and professional, they treat everyone like family and always lend an ear to listen to whatever may be on your mind. you can tell that the workers who own/operate the Tap are dedicated to their craft, and maintaining the place to its full potential. (special shouts go to Emily and Sprout though- prettiest Rosettas, quickest service and kindest demeanors; seeing Emily full swing on a weekend night is a sight to behold! and Sprout almost always has the place buzzing with conversation even early in the night. the decor is mad cozy everywhere you choose to sit, and there is always something right at hand to be entertained by. games of all sorts can be found upstairs, books are found in every room and there's even a house guitar! hang out long enough, you might get lucky with some free live music from a local! the furniture is older and beat to heck, which gives the place a stuck-in-time feeling, especially upstairs. it's my favorite part, if i'm being honest. very cozy, especially after they turn down the lights right before evening times, its the perfect speakeasy vibe. the artwork is incredible throughout as well- with the added charm that the frames (at least in the bathrooms) are screwed directly to the wall. and the bathrooms... absolutely covered in sticker slaps that could keep you entertained for hours (but please don't because I really have to go). i've spent more idle time sitting on the toilet looking at stickers than i would like to admit. the Oxacan food truck, Teahuana 2, serves insanely good food. they deserve their own review though! just order from there, i suggest the taco plate or the breakfast burrito! i'll be honest, with the location being as central as it is, you really do get the whole spectrum of Portland's people; from the snooty couple in the coats and scarves (you know who you are) to the person fent leaning and gazing off at the globe, and everyone in between. you get a true taste of Portland for better or for worse. i've made more friends than i have bad memories here, and i spend a LOT of time here, so that's an excellent thing. it's safe, it can just get mad chaotic! (which i am a fan of, most times) i love everything about Workers Tap! it's a rare Portland gem that people should definitely know about (but i hope not too many people) i've spent probably 100 hours there in the last 2 weeks, and still look forward to going back today. see you there? (parking is a nightmare if you don't secure a spot before it gets busy, so hurry up) Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Such a great hidden gem! Late night coffee, good beer selection, library upstairs, and several cozy nooks. Bartender was great too. You can feel the local support and spirit here. Price per person: $1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
