Great location with views over darling harbour and Anzac bridge. Attentive service but one thing we noticed on a Friday night a lot of corporate executives and staff like to frequent here. Nothing wrong with that but the sea of blue suits is interesting. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I have always loved Zephyr and have celebrated many big events and life achievements there over the years. I’ve visited multiple times and have consistently had an amazing experience, from the service to the cocktails, food and overall atmosphere. Unfortunately, I visited tonight as a walk-in and was really disappointed with the experience. I did speak with the hostess afterwards, who was lovely and explained that we may have been missed because we were seated somewhere that wasn’t a designated table. I completely understand how that could happen and really appreciated her taking the time to speak with me and explain the situation. What I was most disappointed by, however, was an interaction with another staff member. After trying for at least 10 minutes to get some water, including trying to get someone’s attention with the water jug, I finally managed to get the attention of a brunette waitress who appeared to possibly be in a supervisory or management role, as she was carrying a walkie-talkie. I asked if we could please have some water. She looked directly at me and clearly heard and acknowledged my request, but instead of responding, she simply held her hand up in a dismissive gesture as if to wave the request away and continued walking. At first, I assumed she must have been busy and would come back when she had a moment, which I would have completely understood. However, she never returned or acknowledged the request again, despite continuing to walk back and forth past our area. It wasn’t the fact that I didn’t receive water immediately that bothered me — it was the way I was acknowledged and then visibly dismissed without so much as a “one moment” or “I’ll send someone over.” It honestly felt like I had been completely fobbed off, and I found the interaction quite rude and disappointing, particularly from a venue where I have previously experienced such great hospitality. I was actually considering holding an upcoming event at Zephyr for approximately 15 people because of how much I’ve enjoyed celebrating there in the past. However, tonight’s experience has made me seriously reconsider whether I would feel comfortable bringing a group there if this is the level of service we might receive. I genuinely hope this feedback is taken on board, particularly regarding the way customers are acknowledged when staff are busy. I completely understand that hospitality can get hectic and that requests can’t always be attended to immediately. A simple “I’ll be with you shortly” or asking another staff member to assist would have been completely fine. Being looked at, having my request clearly heard, and then having it waved away without any acknowledgement afterwards was what made the interaction so disappointing. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
