It’s the kind of place where you want to linger over drinks and just soak in the environment. The culinary concept leans heavily into shared plates, and while the food is universally good, it’s worth noting that portions are definitely on the smaller side. You’ll want to order a handful of dishes to get a full meal, but the execution of flavor mostly justifies the strategy. The Focaccia (Absolute Must-Order) was absolutely amazing. It arrives perfectly charred on the edges, boasting a beautiful open crumb structure that balances a crispy, oily exterior with a soft, pillowy interior. Paired with a vibrant, high-quality olive oil for dipping, it is an essential start to the meal. White Asparagus & Citrus: Showcased perfectly tender white asparagus paired with bright segments of grapefruit, a light, frothy emulsion, and a crunchy crumble. It’s a beautifully balanced plate—acidic, fresh, and deeply seasonal. Aster nails the brief if you are looking for excellent execution, great sourcing, and an immaculate vibe. Heard about it from a friend and it didn’t disappoint, great food in general, a little saltier than my preferred taste, but it’s really tasty dishes they have.
