Marie and her husband were fantastic hosts. We stayed overnight at their home for our hike from Hongu to Koguchi. They were very kind and took us to Hongu and to a local onsen. The dinner and breakfasts they cooked were absolutely delicious. I am vegetarian and they were great at accommmodating me. The vegetarian meals they cooked were the best I’ve had during our vacation in Japan! The beds were comfortable and we very much enjoyed our stay. They offer everything you need and the Kumano Kodo trail is just a couple hundred metres from their home.

We stayed here while hiking the Kumano Kudo. The owners could not have been more kind and generous. The food was amazing and plentiful. Such a great experience and comfortable stay! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We were given Bond bento boxes for the Kumano Kodo walk from Hongu to Koguchi and they were fantastic - a level up from the other 3 lunch bento were were given (all 4 arranged by Kumano Travel). Salmon, chicken, tofu, soy meat, mushroom, vegetables, rice, and a strawberry. Plenty of food. Catered well for vegetarians. Food: 5 Vegetarian options: Soy meat, egg, tofu
