Ma(i)sonry makes it possible for tiny, boutique wineries to showcase their wines in a beautiful setting. It's a sort of consignment-shop model, where Ma(i)sonry and the winery both keep a portion of sales. Ma(i)sonry provides the setting right in the heart of Yountville -- walking distance to our hotel, which was wonderful -- and the sommelier, who sat with us, asked us leading questions about our preferences, and brought multiple tastings until we found exactly the right combination for us. We ordered six different labels, and they arrived as soon as temperatures cooled below 80 degrees in Raleigh. We could not be happier. Yes, going to the vineyards is wonderful. But we didn't necessarily want a whole case of that one vineyard's products. At Ma(i)sonry you get a fun and completely unique selection, many wines that can not be found outside of Napa Valley. Recommend! Have lunch or dinner in Yountville while you're there (perhaps even across the street at The French Laundry?)! :)
