We are long-term customers of this family owned restaurant. The owners are very genuine and friendly people that want to make you feel welcomed. They also have a bar with a TV where they typically play sports, and serve drinks including wine, beer and liquor. The food is super delicious every time we go. Consistent recepies. They have new menus that explain each of the ingredients. They have lamb meat, beef, chicken and a many vegan options. Also, gluten free injera. The dining room is decorated with Ethiopian landscapes, paintings, and pictures of Haile Selassie I, the room has big windows in the ceiling that cast lots of natural light. In the back of the store they have a small Ethiopian market with spices and Ethiopian cooking essentials. They have their own free parking lot. This restaurant is one you must visit in Rochester! Price per person: $10–20 Recommended dishes: Addis Special

A True Gem in Rochester! Addis Ababa Restaurant is an unforgettable experience — not just a meal. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality by the wonderful owners, Aden and her husband DJ. Their kindness and passion for sharing Ethiopian culture truly made our visit special. Every single dish we tried was absolutely delicious — rich in flavor, beautifully spiced, and authentically prepared. The traditional coffee ceremony was a highlight: aromatic, comforting, and served with such care that it felt like a cultural journey in itself. We were also captivated by the small store inside, full of traditional Ethiopian products. Each item felt like a piece of heritage, and we loved exploring the shelves.
