My boyfriend recently took me to Grappa Italian Nouveau for our 3 year anniversary for a surprise. The restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere and nice lighting. Our server, Ryan, was absolutely wonderful and always made sure we did not need anything. Ryan was extremely charismatic and answered all of our questions about the menu, definitely one of the best waiters we have had! The food was also absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I got the bruschetta board as an appetizer and it was absolutely delicious, the crostini was warm each time it came to our table and our main entrees rigatoni alla Utica and fettuccine carbonara were both mouth watering. Both had very good portions, I needed up taking half of mine home. Over all, I definitely recommend Grappa as a nice night out with a loved one or even the family! The food was horrible, the service was even worse I ordered the Rigatoni Alla Utica pasta, which says on the menu that it has “natural chicken” and “spicy vodka rosé”. I couldn’t find a shred of chicken anywhere, and I swear the sauce tastes exactly the same as a $2 Bertolli Vodka Sauce from Walmart. Our pasta was served in less than 5 minutes from ordering, which is impossible unless it’s already made and they just pour some sauce from a jar! The napkin was just a kitchen towel (I am not kidding), the portions were very small, and the waiter served the bread AFTER we finished our dinner. My friend ordered the Bucatini Bolognese, which has a mystery ground meat blend of beef, veal and pork that I haven’t seen sold anywhere except in pet stores lol. I felt like it was a total waste of money.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Food isn’t that great and it’s overpriced. If I want Italian food, I’ll make it myself.
