extremely cute all day eats spot! the atmosphere is very nice and unique, and we ate secluded upstairs surrounded by hanging plants and ambient lighting, wooden accents, and a semi-industrial ceiling. the food was amazing, and for the portion you get, not unreasonably pricey. the average of the items was probably around $18, with the fancier/more expensive ingredients included costing around $24. they also have house-made teas/lemonades with flavor infusions of lavender, hibiscus, strawberry, etc, which were very good! staff were very friendly and welcoming, and have good recommendations for us having come for the first time. we didn't get to try them, but they have dietary-restriction-friendly pastries and baked goods, that looked extremely good- I really wanted to try the carrot cupcake, it also looked about as big as my hand, so not a tiny cupcake. will definitely be back here next time we're in Austin! Local Foods was exactly the kind of place we wish more lunch spots were like — fresh, high-quality ingredients, creative combinations, and food that actually leaves you feeling good afterward. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and well thought out. You can tell they care about sourcing and balance, because even the healthier dishes were packed with flavor and didn’t feel boring or overly “clean.” The sandwiches, bowls, and sides all felt chef-driven while still being approachable and comforting. As a chef, I appreciated how simple ingredients were elevated through smart execution and attention to detail rather than unnecessary complexity. The portions were solid, the atmosphere was relaxed and modern, and the overall experience felt consistent from start to finish. This is the kind of spot that becomes a regular go-to immediately. Appreciate all the vegan options! Great spot for brunch. The cashew queso was great, the chips had a lovely crunch, the tacoquiles was delicious with a bit of a kick. And the vegan carrot cupcake was yummy and not too sweet (except for the frosting of course). Will definitely eat here again!
