This is a great restaurant and offers something unique compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. The fresh bun and crispy pork belly are standouts but their vegetarian options including the tofu are equally delicious. Have never been disappointed by anything I've ordered. Happy to have this in the neighborhood! Meal type: Dinner Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection, Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes

I recently dined at Lúa Restaurant and had a mixed experience. The food itself was genuinely good and flavorful, which is why this review isn’t lower. You can tell there’s care put into the cooking, and I actually left wishing the rest of the experience matched the quality of the dishes. However, the presentation and service setup need improvement. All dry noodle dishes were served in paper bowls, while only pho came in proper bowls. It made the experience feel inconsistent and not very polished, especially considering the quality of the food. Service was also very limited—there was only one staff member taking orders and also running food. The restaurant is mostly self-service, which made me question the tipping setup since guests are essentially handling most of the service themselves. I still tipped, but it felt like the operation needs more staffing or a clearer system. Overall, the food is solid and worth trying, but the experience doesn’t fully match its potential yet. With better presentation and more support in staffing, this place could easily be much better than it currently is. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

This is my favorite restaurant in Portland, but whatever system they're using is terrible. Online orders show that they are out of everything always, but when you go in to order there are too few staff and you can rarely order. I want to give this place a higher rating and will update to 5 stars once I see this system improve. The food is phenomenal, but the process makes it not worth it to patronize the establishment.
