The food was DELICIOUS. OMG, if I could kiss the chef who made our food, I would, because everything was out of this world! I got the New York strip, and I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever had a steak that good in my life. It was cooked perfectly, super tender, easy to bite into, and practically melted in my mouth. My husband got the tavern-style hamburger, and his was SO delicious too. And the snacks/appetizers?? PLEASE give the beef tartare a try! It was amazing. I literally could not stop eating it. We also tried the pig’s head, and it was really good, especially with the sauce they served with it. The drinks were amazing too — seriously, 10/10! Everything we ordered was so good. The atmosphere was another thing we loved. The whole place gave me this cozy, old-school jazz vibe, which made the experience even better. Our waitress was amazing with us, super nice and welcoming, and took the time to explain the menu and tell us about the deals they have every Wednesday. It was our first time at Murray’s Tavern yesterday, and we absolutely loved it. The food, drinks, atmosphere, and service were all amazing. We will definitely be coming back! We discovered Murray's Tavern on a Reddit thread when we were searching for the best Reuben in Austin. Noble and Hailey took such great care of us, and the weather was amazing on the spacious tree-shaded patio. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the savory French onion soup to the Caesar salad with anchovies to the burger to the aforementioned Reuben. The ice cream profiteroles were scrumptious, and the creamy cheesecake was even better. Will be back to try Grandma's goulash and the fish and chips.
