It has been a hot minute since I stepped foot in a Papa Murphy's. I had never really liked their sauce. Their concept was a great idea, inexpensive pizza that you bake yourself and have the same taste as a regular pizza joint. My kid had seen an advertisement for their Detroit style pizza. It was like $11, so we opted for pizza for lunch. I went online, signed up for their rewards program and placed an online order. We headed over and it was being finished up. I do like the fact that they do have garlic knots you can grab. The cookie dough they offer did shrink, it used to be in a much bigger container. The young woman working the counter claimed it was pretty much the same size, which is not true because they used to put them in these quart containers. They are nicely labeled which is cool. This time I did not change the sauce type and figured I would I give Papa Murphy's another chance. First of all, I understand that their "Detroit Style" pizza is a corporate thing and is no fault of this store. The Detroit Style was NOT anywhere near "Detroit Style". It was pretty much a thin crust pan pizza. Detroit Style comes on focaccia crust and not really thin regular pizza dough. In fact, my pizza crust was no where near the picture they have on the corporate website. The pizza was good. It was better than I expected and I guess they change their sauce recipe as it was much better than I had before. I had also gotten a thin New York Style. The crust was definitely thin. If you cook it longer than 12 minutes, you will almost start to over cook the crust. It was good, but was very skimpy on the toppings. I expected a little bit better quality. Then again, this is Papa Murphy's so beggars can not be choosers. Overall, it was a good experience. I am glad I stopped here again. Would I go back? Sure. If I wanted something different than the pizza joints we have here in Kyle. The young lady working the counter was very friendly and professional. Glad to see Papa Murphys is still going strong. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
