IMITATION Crab Risotto?!?! As in dyed whitefish...from a restaurant that bills itself as serving the freshest ingredients reflecting 'the rich culinary traditions of Italy'. And the server lied about it. Why does it matter you may ask?...we noted in our reservation that we would be looking for gluten free options/menu, as one of us is celiac. When ordering, the server pointed us toward the crab risotto as being GF. Great...sounds good. It arrived looking a bit 'fishy', with the crab resembling cut up pieces of the 'Sea Legs' imitation seafood sticks (which we know are NOT GF), so we asked the server if this was indeed real crab, which she confirmed with the kitchen. After eating some, which did not taste like crab, we asked to speak to a manager, who confirmed it was real crab and GF. So I asked to see the label. He came back with a photo of the label for imitation crabmeat with WHEAT clearly listed in the ingredients! If these folks think imitation crabmeat represents 'the freshest ingredients sourced locally and from Italy', that is an unfortunate misrepresentation...but just don't lie to your customers about it. And after all this, the manager offered a 50% discount on the shared plate they tried to make us sick with. Food: 1 Atmosphere: 2 Price per person: $40–50 Dietary restrictions: Do NOT trust the staff for guidance on dietary restrictions. They outright lied to us about something they should have known was not GF, trying to convince us multiple times to go ahead and eat the dish in front of us that we knew was not GF. We had to show them the label from their own kitchen to prove it. Absurd.

Dinner at Rustica Ristorante – A Perfect Experience From the moment we walked into Rustica Ristorante, we were welcomed like family. This multigenerational gem exudes warmth and hospitality, and the service is second to none. Our server, Andres, was a true professional—attentive, knowledgeable, and gracious. His recommendations were spot on, and his thoughtful service made the evening even more memorable. It was a pleasure to meet his mom, dad, and aunt, who were just as warm and welcoming as the atmosphere they’ve helped create. The meal itself was exquisite. We enjoyed the Lasagne Bolognese, rich and comforting with layers of perfectly seasoned meat and pasta, and the Halibut special, which was flawlessly cooked and elevated by a delicate orange cream sauce that brought a bright, citrusy balance to the dish. For dessert, we indulged in the Budino al Formaggio (cheesecake) and a classic crème brûlée—both beautifully prepared and the perfect sweet finish to our evening. Rustica is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience marked by genuine hospitality, exceptional cuisine, and the kind of heartfelt connection that keeps you coming back.
