I usually love coming to Starbucks and have never had any issues before, but today’s customer service was disappointing. The older gentleman at the till came across as rude and dismissive, which made me feel talked down to. It was also the first time a free drink reward was applied to the cheaper item rather than the more expensive one. In my previous experiences, baristas have even recommended sizing up and still applied the free drink reward onto the expensive one. Overall, the interaction left me disappointed. There’s no need to have attitude when no prompt was given. Be better, be kinder. Price per person: £1–10 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

I have visited Starbucks in Kettering three times, and maybe only one visit was remotely decent. Unfortunately, it seems as though the staff learning there are given little, if any, supervision when making drinks. The same drink can taste completely different on another visit, despite selecting exactly the same options each time. I understand that they need to learn through trial and error, but at the same time, the quality of the coffee served should remain consistent. On one occasion, a member of staff who seemed to be new was struggling to put a lid on a coffee. Only after around five minutes of trying did someone finally help him. It was painful to watch him struggle for so long without assistance. It is a shame because the staff there are very friendly, but friendliness alone is simply not enough when the purpose of the business is to provide good coffee and food.
