Me and my husband came to this location just passing through last night. Food was great but all the sudden we heard cussing coming from the back of the store. It sounded like they were all joking around but the guy I heard seemed to management of some sort. He was skinny with brownish hair. He wore a button up and tie. The reason I knew he was management. Steak and shake is supposed to be a family restaurant and I felt bad for the people there that had children. As a boss I would think this would be unacceptable. I’ll stick to my steak and shake from now on Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We were traveling through, and get off the interstate for a meal. I'd never eaten at a Steak 'n Shake, so opted for it. Poor choice. It was FOREVER from our order to getting it. There were three of us in the restaurant. It seems they were working on the orders simultaneously. First, one person would get part of their order, then another person. When all was said and done, it took 30 minutes from order to getting our food. We had to remind them about the shakes. Considering they advertised their shakes as something special, I wasn't impressed. Basic, boring chocolate shake. Thinner than I would have liked. The fries were skinny, tough, and barely warm. The hamburger part of the burger was okay. We could see the burgers cooked and setting on the grill a good 5-10 minutes. They were still warm when we received them, but the bun was cold. Someone needs to train those workers how to complete an order. At the simplest, complete one order before you do another. Another suggestion is having the guy on the grill do more than grill. Like maybe put the sandwich together instead of standing around waiting for, I don't know what.
There appeared to be only three employees. When we questioned them about our order, they gave the excuse that they were busy with pick-up orders. None of the three of us, waiting inside, had seen any cars at the drive-though. Whatever their excuse, the wait time was inexcusable.
