What a nice place to eat, the two ladies were super nice and had great recommendations! The food was delicious, we never have dessert but everything here was so tasty.. We booked a table at Two Chefs Bistro at 8pm on a Tuesday evening for a special celebration. The restaurant was quite quiet when we arrived and by the time the main course was served we were the only diners. The food was passable - a tournedo rossini, good steak cooked to rare perfection ... but the presentation sadly lacking and dull and (vitally) only luke warm. The young waiting staff were clearly inexperienced and poorly trained. There is very little that is French about the place - not the ambiance and music (English pop classics played much too loudly and intrusively), not the food (superficially French, but essentially Kiwi in orientation) and definitely not the service which was clumsy and awkward. But the real issue was that just as we began eating the main course the staff stared to re-arrange the tables - and I mean radically and noisily move all the tables and chairs into completely different configurations, When we protested the staff said that the manager had told them they had to do this for the following day graduation dinners. We asked to see the manager but were told he was not prepared to meet us. As the furniture removal continued we insisted that he appear and explain why we were subjected to eating a mediocre meal costing around $250 in what amounted to a furniture warehouse, He did finally show up and apologised - offering us a glass of cognac by way of compensation. But we had drunk enough and politely refused, expecting that he would adjust the bill to compensate for such a dreadful evening. Perhaps inevitably the bill remained unadjusted. Our recommendation is to avoid this place. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
